This might have a huge impact on people who held a H4 b4 switching to H1B!

Even though their reasoning for doing it applies to these cases too.

I just don't like the tone of after getting work with a valid permit, then suddenly, one turns against those who are applying for work permit for the fear that they may take his job.
The anti-immigrants also fear that the immigrants are taking their jobs or lowering their wages atleast.

I agree with you. I just don't like the attitude of people who have got green card or EAD. Once they have it they want to stop all the immigration. Try too have a conversation with GC or EAD holder !!
BTW, people forget to take family based GC into account. If you think about it, around 500k GC are given every year. This means during my stay in US, around 3.5 million people have got GC, but I still never had problem in finding job with H1. Yes it is more difficult but definately possible. As someone mentioned , as long as one brings skills on table, the person will have job.
Most of the July filers have 140 approved and working in a full time job.So I think there will be little impact.

u can easily get an affadavit from someone with a business that says u worked there for a period of x days while ur h1 was with yyy company... that puts u into an illegal category too.
i m growing some tomatoes this summer....maybe i can get additional points if i grow them for 100 days every year and then after another 5 yrs i can get some more points in the new merit based system
Well they will easily find out from your SSN number if one is on payroll or not. I am seriously looking into this matter of getting illegal and many of my friends agree. Once the bill passes in its current form we should get advise from a good lawyer to convert status from legal to illegal. It sounds so insane when I say changing for legal to illegal..but that is the hit thing these days.

How do you see above message in the June Visa Bulletin? This means it is illegal to use all of them with in 3 quarters????
I don't wish to sound like Bill Clinton, but it depends on how you define "is." In this case, if they are using "annual limit" to mean the entire annual quota, then they are admitting that they have broken the law and issued too many visas in the first three quarters. As long as your orig employer does not complain(which i hardly doubt anyone will do) you are fine, worst case scenario if someone does, then its not a big hurdle to cross with an able attorney's help.
Just to put your mind at ease, i have several friends(not friend-of-a-friend) who had quit at various intervals (1-2-3 months) after getting their GC's and haven't faced a single issue while in process of becoming a citizen.
In short its better to be safe than sorry so these attorneys suggest staying for atleast 180 days.
If that is the case, then why is it that all immigration attorneys are asking us to stay with our current employers citing this "Intent" thing? Are you saying that it's all smoke and no fire?

At least you have nine more fingers in your hand. But the poor keyboard / laptop has only one F5.
By the way, I work for a insurance company and we have customer service dept. Once one of our client called and said she is having some issues with our website. The customer service rep could not resolve the case so she conferenced me in. I asked the client to press F5 to refresh the browser. She said her browser was not refreshed even after pressing F5. After serveral minutes I realized that she was pressing F and then 5 seperately. The story continued with that client for several minutes and I accepted my defeat at the end.
Another time when I called the charter company for some cable issue, they asked what OS I have. I replied I have windows on my PC and they did not understand. So she asked "Do you have windows or PC?". I said "I have windows on my PC". I thought she is funny. But when I went to the charter site for cable connection registration, they had similar question in their website too. Then I realized, in US windows = OS from microsoft and PC= MAC.
Man u guys are faaaaaaaaaaaast!!!!
BTW, talking abt F5...I have lost the white ink on the F5 key..its all blank now.....seriously not kidding, and also some dead skin on my index finger.......cheeeeeeeers!!!
