common guys why are you making it as bigger issue.
All he is going to give is 2K more than normal lawyer fee, which is just a 1 dollar per year for an hourly employee. I would advice him to happily take this offer and file without any complication with employer.
Note desi employer (consulting company) are doing us favor by applying GC, other wise where the heck they have a permanent job.
Take it easy now and ACt after 6 months of filling 485.
Also these days lawyers have to do Overtime to prepare documents for sudden surge of new filers.
Ask your law firm why they are charging you so much. Below are the rates charged by my lawyer and should not be too different from what most of the others charge. If the lawyer doesn't answer, then show these numbers to your employer and lodge a strong protest with them.
Adjustment of Status
Principal applicant $1,000
Dependent applicant $500
Work Authorization Cards (each) $200
Advance Parole Travel Documents(each)$200
If you are working on an hourly basis, does your employer pay you when you're on the bench? If he doesn't, keep record of that and once you get your GC sue him over back wages and complain to DOL. These people don't deserve any thing better.

This is a wishful thinking. Since there is a lot of pending cases for March...clearing March logs will take time. We have to expect a baby step unless a miracle happens.

Trust me. You would see an approval this month. Most of the people who got an LUD on their approved I-140 on 07/13/2008 are seeing their GC approved. Only uncertain people are those who hasn't seen any such light.

They are just pointing to one side of story. Yes H1B program has been massively misused by corporations and LLC's ( This includes L1 visa). Yes they have injected huge foreigh labor into US markets (till 2004 it was 120K I beleive and now it is at 80K with L1 extra).
But then there is other side of the story. Look at the competativeness of US companies due to these workers. Look at the massive amount of e-commerece, B2C and B2B commerce that was possible because of the work that these workers have done. Yes it reduced labor cost's and increased the pool of talent that employer could chose from. But then labor cost's were always conforming to DOL laws & prewailing wages for each occassion for most cases ( except few bad eggs, which I beleive was very small percentage of this program). So wages argument is not as valid as it looks if anti' s feel wages have been less they need to ask DOL to increase prevailing wages to what they feel is right but then that will make all these innovations extremely expensive and companies will face budget constraints and feel less inclined to try new things. That will make US less competative globally.

First of all make a complaint about the employer to the INS that he is not paying... and make decision, US is not your entire life. If you have confidence you can do anything anywhere in this small world.
In that case its better to go to India and lead a much better life than staying in this pathetic state here.
Obviously there's no meaning for an immigrant to stay here away from his home country to be trested almost like an uneducated person.
Living like this is not only bad for one's self respect but is also certainly illegal for the employer.
Its people like this guy why companies liek Infosys etc abuse the visa program and pay less to guys they bring from India to US.
In that case its better to go to India and lead a much better life than staying in this pathetic state here.

I applied for I-140, I-485, AP and EAD on 8/15/07. I got my EAD and the case status online got updated accordingly. But, for my other three applications I get the following errors:

Is there any update on three bills in house. I have checked the hearing schedule for all committees and there seems to be no hearing scheduled for any of these bills. House is in session till September 7 and after that District work period and convention shows, which leaves us with just 4 weeks from now and after that It reconvens from September 9 with target adjournment date of 26th september and i m pretty sure no congressional rep will like to cast vote on any bills before going into election....
Prospects seems bleak now... Is there anything we can do...any last attempt that is required? If so...Let us all know...

I really am not able to understand your education pattern
10 = Std 10th
+2 = Std 12th I assume
+1 = Is this the commerce 1st year?
+3 sounds to be your diploma right? now what was eligiblity for the diploma 10th or 12th? I am assuming it was 10? since it was 3 years course.
My friend I hate to be sounding pessimistic but your education might add upto 16 years but it is not progressive 16 years as required for a bachelors program, most of it is redundant. your +2 (12th grade) and diploma are overlapping. Your +1 is completely tangential to your course work. It is same as some one doing 1st year courses for 3 different strems example 1st year Science , 1st year arts and 1st year commerce and then claiming he has equivalent of 3 years bachelors course work completed and so he be awarded a bachelors degree.
Please dont feel bad. I do not want to give you any false hopes. Please consult some proffessional evaluators to check if there is a way they can make your education sound progressive but looking at USCIS response you pasted they have evaluated your diploma and cannot accept it as equivalent to degree program. Or saying I have 2 Masters degree so count it as equivalent to a PhD that cannot happen even if the person might have completed equal number of credits as PhD still it is at masters level and not at PhD level plus they are not cumulative which will be the most sticking out point.
I dont know who will pay for the MTR + refiling in case your employer is going to shoulder these expenses then there is really no harm in trying but if it is you who has to pay for appeals then my friend it will be better if you consult education evaluators and some other lawyers like Murthy, Khanna to get a second opinion before you embark on this long and costly journey.
