Hi:
I forgot to attach the G-1145 for electronic notification of acceptance of the EAD applications. However I have sent checks. Is there any way to send the G-1145.. or it does not make any difference whether you send those forms?
NK29
you can send separately. On other forums I read that somebody receiving emails... but it emails doesn't arrive in 24hrs.... as the form mentions...
I guess you can just wait for checks to cash and then get RN from back of it.....

Lasantha,
When you called TSC prior to your GC approval, what did the IO at TSC tell you?
I'm asking because I know your RD was June 2007, when I called TSC today they told me that they have not got to my I-485 application because they are currently working on I-485 applications with RDs of April 2007 and my RD is June 2007 like yours.
Thanks!
Speedo,
Yes I did call the USCIS the day prior to getting the welcome email. Now if that triggered the approval or not I can't be certain.

I just checked my online status one last time for the day; since the USCIS website was down all day. Usually its the same status but now I saw a LUD in today’s date. I checked the case status and both me and my wife have the Card Production Status:D
No emails or text just the update. Called the phone number and got the same message that the card has been ordered.
Its been a very long journey very similar to many here. Its been almost 11 years to a month since we came to this country and had to go through 2 applications to finally reach here. Sacrificed career for the sake of the GC and was at my wits ends with this long wait. Thanks to the almighty the road from here is hopefully green:)
Things I did:
1. Wife opened SR- Got standard response
2. Called congressman- they called and got standard response
3. I opened a SR on Aug 3rd
4. I called today and spoke with standard rep who told me my SR has a response “we are processing the case actively and need additional verification. If you don’t hear in 6-9 months please call back”. I told the level 1 rep I need to talk to level 2 and she transferred.
Level 2 and me spoke at length. She was very considerate and polite. The best info she could give was that my case was being actively adjucated. The case is at TSC, if it was not with an IO it will be in New Hampshire in storage. Give some more time for the case. I expressed my fear about dates retrogressing and she affirmed “hopefully this time it wont”.
And now I saw the status change. My wife still has a FP on the 12th and I have an infopass which I will cancel.
Best of luck to all who are waiting, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
@ smisachu,
Congratulations!
Still status quo for me so far.

This is one hell of a great post - examining different reasons why non-GC holders have or haven't bought a home.
One of the things that we need to understand is that for many of us India still represents that "safe and secure" boat that we really had to jump out of physically to come here to the United States and there is no reason for us NOT to make that transition emotionally, spiritually and in every walk of life. After all we hope to get GCs because we want to make the United States our permanent home. Therefore physically holding a GC really shouldnt decide if you need to buy a home in the US or not - especially if you have 'intended' to make the United States your home permanently.
I bought a home 2 years ago and although the economy and housing market is down - on account of which I have lost a percentage of the value of my home. I am not here to feel bad or complain about it. I do understand that from a financial standpoint there is a level of risk involved in investing in a home with or without a GC, as is with every other thing in life. One thing that we need to understand is that a home is not the investment, or its growth, or its safety and the overly protective need to save it. There is no guarantee that there would have been a reduced level of risk involved by buying a home in India, if we lived there. But that said one must still be very careful to ensure that the delicate balance of measuring the financial ability to buy a home and match it in such a way that it does not hinder nurtuting the family that resides in there. I agree that the financial decision to buy a house to make a home out of it, needs to be done very carefully with great thought in mind such that this investment doesn't hinder the delicate dynamics and quality of life of the family members who are making the house a home.
A home is the fond memories, the happy and sad times, the times of enjoying the unique relationships with each other the God has given us - and the bonds of love and affection that pull the family together - and this must be enjoyed irrespective of the investment and financial obligations it brings, since it truly is a labour of love. A home for each of us is what we strive to make of it; our attitude, ability to love and nurture our family, ablilty to derive peace and contentment from the relationships we have; and a willingness to integrate and assimilate into American Life; since by virtue of getting / accepting a GC we agree that the United States is our permanent home.

- Grant option to have citizenship or green card to those who have been working for US for 10years or more without getting out of status.
- Issue one time executive order to grant green cards to those who have Priority Dates older than 7 years.
- Visa re capture if above two are not issued.
- Count primary applicant as a visa number and not dependents.
- If none of above are done at least deny/approve I-485 application as soon as possible and issue green cards later so that applicants know what they should do with their lives.
- If none of the above are possible, please shut the immigration.

I am also eagerly waiting for it.
All of my friends with PD2006 (jan-Mar) got their GCs and I am still here waiting.
2nd FP on July 29th, Raised a SR on Aug 2nd. So far nothing moved, no LUDs.
Tried congressman's inquiry no response yet.
I dont know if I get GC atleast this time or not
I can fully understand your frustration as I am also going through the same situation.
How did you contact congressman?

Hi all,
We are on the same boat. I'm wondering if there are any successful cases where CSPA and the Patriot Act were combined to ensure that the child remains under 21? My son's name has been deleted from the derivative beneficiary's list, however, he can remain eligible under this I-130 F-4 petition if the Consular calculate his age with Patriot Act 45 days. In that case, he can benefit from CSPA. Our case details as below:
Priority Date: Oct. 16, 1996
Approval Date: Dec. 4, 1996
Days of Petition Pending: 49 days
Child's 21st Birthday: May 31, 2007
Child's age when visa became current: 21 years 62 days
Need your advices. Thanks!
Is there any one like my who misssed CSPA applicability by less than a month. If yes, please respond.

Hi all,
Just wanted to rop by and say I received my welcome email today.
Been here since 2001, but my company wouldn't let me file labor until December 2004.
Good luck all, and keep the faith.
Andy
wow that's a long wait to file your labor. Well in any event you got your GC and i wish you could have gotten it sooner since IMO you should have filed your labor much sooner. Good luck in all that you have planned on doing.

- unless you have an account big enough to buy a mercedes SL500 , it is so not worth the time
- unless you can afford to lose $5k in a day, it not for you
- u can do ur taxes urself, no need for a tax consultant.. just use hrblock/ turbotax. make note of ur trades in a spreadsheet.
- day trading is fantastic.. ur immigration stress will take a backseat to the excitement (& shock!) you feel while doing it.
- now is not a good time to enter the market... will it go up? .. i don't know.. will it go down? .. i don't know. But the warning comes from volatility... it will shake you out.

the main thing we need to watch for is whether AC21 rules remain suspended for the next yr. If not.. trickle down policies will make sure that retrogression remains at a decent level.

Did not mean to interject the spate of good news coming some folks' way.. but isn't it ironical that we have a forum dedicated to obtaining GC plus there are folks who are current this month but have not received the good news, .. but there is still this Advert on the bottom of the page asking "if you would like to work and live in the USA, apply for green Card" And i know very well it does not apply to EB I,C...
just shows how messed up the system is.
Heartiest congrats to everyone who received the good news so far and best wishes to those who are current for rest of the month..

Hi Totoro,
Please dont get distracted by posts of few "idiots" who do not know who you are and what you have done to help folks on h4 and h1. They are new and they are not aware of your good intentions, only folks who have been following this forums for a long time know about you.
so you need not prove to anyone who you are or what you do, we all know about you and are really grateful for what you have done already.
I just have one request - can we eliminate the fact that our PD has to become current to apply for AOS, so that dependents of 485 filed members who have still not filed 485 can file now and atleast get a EAD/AP/SSN and they can start their careers. This should not be that tough, since anyway one day they got to file and it also brings money to USCIS.
So my request is,
Allow folks to file for AOS and not wait for PD to be current !!!!!!!!!!

First, I am not promising to solve anything. I am just saying that I will bring up the issues when I have my meeting. If this thread is a distraction, then feel free to ignore it.
Second, those who have participated in this forum over the past year know about the issues I was working on.
Third, the forum moderators have my contact information and I have corresponded directly with them (Aman Kapoor). If you don't believe I am who I say I am, feel free to contact the mods.
I am not sure what the point is about "innocent Indians." Does it really matter if I am Canadian? Is this forum restricted to South Asians?

Tuesday evening would be a Congressional Reception. After that we would have an IV meeting with members to discuss IV next steps etc. So keep departure flights to be late Tuesday night or after. I would highly recommend being in the Congressional Reception. You will get to meet several staffers and lawmakers here and talk to them.
I wish I were there but, I booked my return on Monday. I am glad that IV is doing this event and wish more people come attend the event.
One thing that I want to suggest is - if such a important event like congressional reception is done on last day of advocacy, most people may not be able to make it because many will want to get home and get back to work on Wednesday. This is just my personal opinion and I may not know the real reasons, I am sure IV core have planned things in the best possible way.
I urge people to attend the congressional reception - this is very important. Lawmakers always want to mingle and socialize with minorities and immigrants because they want to know things first hand which are not covered by mainstream. This reception is a wonderful opportunity to mingle with law makers, industry leaders, and other people who are working for our cause.

Naa.. Lots of people including me never received CPO email. For such instances, CPO email will take a while (may be an issue with expired Biometrics..etc). The wait continues for some more time to see the actual cards in the mail. There is a dedicated thread on this issue on .
There is no consistency with USCIS' process (or at least none that we can infer). For me and my wife, we only received the CPO emails. We haven't received any emails or updates that they have sent us a notice about registering us an Perm Residents...
